Across much of North Carolina, the forecast is calling for a good bit of rain this week. While rain is great for crops and plants, it’s not so great for your home if you have a damaged roof or gutters. So, use this rainy weather to inspect your home for any signs of potential damage.

After a good rain, head up to your attic with a flashlight. Inspect your roof for any areas where you see sunlight peeking through and also look for any leaks coming from your roof. If you notice any leaks or holes in your roof, be sure to call a roofing professional immediately before the damage gets worse.

Shortly after it rains, head outside to inspect your gutters. If you notice any of your gutters overflowing or leaking water, then you need to have them checked out as there’s likely an issue. Even after a heavy rain, your gutters should not overflow with rain if they’re working properly.

While you’re outside looking at your gutters, go ahead and inspect your roof for any loose or missing shingles. These willl need to fixed as soon as possible.

If this rainy weather brings some roof or gutter damage to your attention, give us a call at Housetop Roofing in Raleigh, NC today.
